Myself Reflection

Myself Reflection
In the beginning when I know that this course will be for volunteer I feel that it will be boring and loss of time, but I say for myself that this what I have to do to get marks. I was search for group to volunteer after that we go to search for a place, so we volunteered at Zayed Rehabilitation Centre its site for special needs, which was my first time to visit this place.

To be serious I was fear from this group so I was resolved to volunteer In the Zayed Rehabilitation Center, There I found something deferent and special for what we are living I found brothers like to laugh brothers have clean heart. Its right, they have disability but they are smarter than other normal people which they can do a lot of things that other cannot do it  this mean that the disability it’s not the end.

One of the better known benefits of volunteering is making new friend, relationship and meeting new people, Life satisfaction because the really happiness is on make other people happy. Moreover volunteer can get benefits for my society.

This volunteer change my future view, from my volunteer I found that I have a lot of skills and I learnt how to be patient, and now I am ready to volunteer in any place search for volunteers. In addition,This made me realize how able these people are to achieve and give their community and how hard working they are.

Now, I can say thank for the teachers to plant this wonderful initiative, also now I know where can I use my free time in something get benefit.

This is the link for my intreview                       http://cdn.top4top.net/d_19ca935c561.amr

4th Week Volunteering

This is our final week there were a lot of event, this week we visited the electronics workshops, but on that day Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed was there and we could not communicate with the students because students were busy.

In the last day we come back to the electronics workshops where they have many smart things they fix old devices and making it new, they show us light can use it on water and the alarm door by sensors. The teacher told us that the student with the highest mental ability is brought here.  Our teacher Gregory visit us at that day to check how we deal with the students, also there was women from Etihad newspaper she took pictures for us and ask us some questions.

That was our final day there that our course only required 15 hours, and from here we finished 16 hours. Finally I invite every one to go there and keep closer from this group of people.

3rd Week Volunteering

Third week we went on and visited the carpentry workshop, In begin I think that they just make a simple geometric shapes by wood, but they were on a different league than I was thought. They were making a lot of things like ships, tables, and chair that you can close it.  As usual our group split up to find a different partner. I found one of them was set alone and work silent, I went to him and set behind him for few minutes after that we start talking his name is Khalid diffident in the begin but after that he showed me that how they working and dealing with woods and they had like a project they have to finish it in 3 days. I tried to help him and I did because in usual I did something similar.

After 3 days we found them did a great works and we encourage them to keep going and they were happy from us.

2nd Week Volunteering

On Second week we went to the weaving and sewing workshop. They keep the student’s who had a hard disability or low degree of understand in weaving and sewing workshop, But the higher income they get it from that workshop. Each one of our group set next to a student. The boy who I sat next to him called Hashem he try to teach me how to do tie, I tried to do my best but I didn’t make it well like what they do, they making amazing things such as clothes, tie, and simple furniture. On Fatima AlHamli office there is some of furniture which they did it like the curtain in her office and the Pillow sofas. I like that workshop and I amazed at what they are doing.

1st Week Volunteering

In actual, our first day of volunteering was on Sunday regrettably they didn't let us volunteer at the Autism Center because all the employees were females. So on Wednesday we start our volunteer at Zayed Rehabilitation Centre.

First, we meet Fatima AlHamli she’s the supervisor of the male section, we discuss with her about our schedule, and then she took us to the workshop’s to get idea about them and what they do, there are around five workshops Electrical, Mechanical, Tailor and the office workshop. We start with office workshop because highest level students are taken there so it is easier for us in our first time to try to communicate with them. We start to make Friendship with them then we find it’s easy to communicate with them like any normal human but with simple word and idea.
